How long do I have to pick up my package after I received a UG2 notification?
Packages are held at the designated package centers for a total of 9 days.
Packages placed in smart lockers will be there for up to 2 days, then they will be held at the designated package center for 7 days (for a total of 9 days).
Packages not collected within 9 days will be returned to sender.
What to do if I cannot pick up my package within 9 days?
If you are planning to be away from campus for more than nine days, we recommend that you use the "Forwarding Preferences" option in your student portal to have a trusted person pick up your package due to the limited capacity to hold packages at the package centers.
NOTE: Packages cannot be held over winter break and will be returned to sender after the nine days.
Which holidays are closed?
We are closed for all Stanford holidays including July 4th for Independence Day.
How do I address my packages?

What are the usual turn around times at the package centers?
During peak times, processing times may vary due to package volume. However, specified priority packages will still be processed with the maximum urgency possible.
The usual processing times at the both package centers are:
- regular package = 36 hours
- priority package or mail = same day*
- USPS mail = less than 48 hours
How can I request mail forwarding?
Graduate students (except EVGR residents) can request mail forwarding with the USPS. To request your first class United State Postal Service (USPS) flat mail and packages be forwarded to another domestic US address, please navigate to this portal: https://form.jotform.com/213095632888163.
Graduate students living in EVGR buildings and undergraduates can request mail forwarding by completing a request with UG2.
- First class and priority mail will be forwarded for one year after you move. Packages and items from other carriers, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, etc., will not be forwarded. Please assign a proxy to collect any of these items, or they will be returned to the sender or discarded.
- If you have moved from one EVGR unit to another EVGR unit, please alert the senders of your new address/new apartment number to avoid mail delays or missing mail. UG2 will NOT forward mail from one EVGR location to another EVGR location.
What should I do if a package can’t be located?
Please contact your designated package center and provide:
- Your full name
- SUnet
- the carrier and complete tracking number.
The customer service team at the package centers will work with you to locate the package(s).
